Your first visit, step by step
No part of this requires a decision from you on the day.
A clinician takes your history properly — what you have tried, what happened, what you are actually eating, and what your working day looks like.
Weight, height, waist circumference and body composition. Waist matters more than the scale, and fat and muscle are read separately.
If you bring blood work, it is read with you. If there are gaps, we say which tests are worth having and why, rather than sending you for everything.
What appears to be driving the problem, what is worth addressing first, and whether we are the right people for it. Sometimes the answer is that you need a doctor, and we will say so.
You leave with what was found and what was suggested. Whether you come back is entirely your decision, and nobody will pressure you on the day.
What a centre gives you that an app cannot
Body composition, measured
Not estimated from a photograph or a formula. Fat and muscle read separately, on the same machine each time.
A person opposite you
Someone who can see that today is a bad day and adjust the conversation. This is most of the value and it is hard to write down.
Continuity
The same clinician, so you are not re-explaining your history at every visit.
Somewhere to walk in
When something is not working, you can come and say so in person rather than typing it.
Centre addresses and timings
Publication pending. The current centre list, with addresses, timings and the clinicians at each, is being verified before publication. The locator will be built against that list rather than against an approximation of it.
Blocked on dependency D8.
Questions we are asked
Is the first consultation really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it. You leave with a written summary whether or not you join anything.
Do I need to book?
It is better to. Booking means a clinician has your slot and your history has been read before you arrive.
What should I bring?
Any blood report from the last six months, a list of medicines and supplements you take, and a rough idea of what you ate yesterday. The last one is more useful than people expect.
Can I switch between the centre and online?
Yes. Health@Home and centre visits use the same assessment, the same clinicians and the same file, so moving between them changes nothing clinically.
The assessment can be done before you come in.It takes two minutes and means the first consultation starts from your numbers rather than from a blank page.
